A licencee is an individual or entity that has been granted permission or authorisation by a licensor to use, occupy, or access a property, asset, or intellectual property for a specific purpose or period of time. The relationship between a licensor and a licencee is typically governed by a licence agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions of the licence, including any restrictions, obligations, and rights of the licencee. Licenses can cover a wide range of assets, including real estate, software, patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Unlike a lease or ownership agreement, a licence does not convey ownership of the property or asset to the licencee but rather grants a limited right or privilege to use it in accordance with the terms of the agreement. Failure to comply with the terms of the licence agreement may result in the revocation of the licence or legal action by the licensor.
