Ambitus (noun):
1. The range or extent of something, especially in terms of influence, power, or jurisdiction.
2. In music, the range of pitches or notes that a particular instrument or voice can produce.
3. In architecture, the outer boundary or perimeter of a building or structure.
4. In ancient Roman law, the legal term referring to the area surrounding a city or town that was under its jurisdiction and protection.
5. In medicine, the range of movement or motion that a joint or limb can achieve.
