Ampere A is the standard unit of electric current in the International System of Units (SI). It is named after the French physicist André-Marie Ampère. One Ampere is defined as the amount of electric current that flows through a conductor when a potential difference of one volt is applied across it, and it produces a force of one newton per meter of length between two parallel conductors. The Ampere is a fundamental unit in electromagnetism and is used to measure the flow of electric charge in a circuit.
