Full Definition Of Appealed

An appeal is a legal process in which a higher court reviews a decision made by a lower court. The purpose of an appeal is to determine whether the lower court made any errors in its decision-making process. The appellant, or the party who is appealing the decision, must provide legal grounds for the appeal and present evidence to support their case. The appellee, or the party who won the lower court decision, may also present evidence to defend their position. The higher court may affirm the lower court’s decision, reverse it, or remand the case back to the lower court for further proceedings. Appeals can be filed in both civil and criminal cases.
