Exemption
Quick Summary of Exemption

Exemption refers to the legal protection or immunity from certain obligations, requirements, or liabilities that would otherwise apply to an individual or entity. It grants freedom or relief from specific duties or responsibilities. Exemptions can vary widely depending on the context and jurisdiction. Common examples include tax exemptions, where certain income or transactions are not subject to taxation, and exemptions from jury duty or military service based on specific criteria such as age, occupation, or health status. Exemptions can also apply in bankruptcy proceedings, where certain property may be exempt from liquidation to satisfy creditors. Overall, exemptions provide individuals or entities with exceptions or privileges under the law.
