A felon is an individual who has been convicted of a serious crime, typically punishable by imprisonment for more than one year or by death. Felonies are considered more serious offences than misdemeanours, and being convicted of a felony can result in significant legal consequences, including loss of certain rights such as the right to vote or possess firearms.
