Misappropriation refers to the unlawful or unauthorized use, theft, or diversion of someone else’s property, funds, or assets for personal gain or purposes other than those intended by the owner. It can involve various forms of misconduct, such as embezzlement, theft, fraud, or misuse of confidential information. Misappropriation is often considered a violation of both civil and criminal laws and may result in legal consequences for the perpetrator.
