Partial Disability
Quick Summary of Partial Disability

Partial disability refers to a condition in which an individual experiences limitations or impairments in performing certain activities or tasks due to a physical or mental condition, but is still able to engage in some level of work or activity. Unlike total disability, where an individual is unable to perform any substantial gainful activity, partial disability allows the person to work or function to some extent. The degree of impairment and its impact on the individual’s ability to work or perform daily activities can vary widely. Partial disability may result from various factors, including injury, illness, or chronic health conditions, and may be temporary or permanent in nature. Individuals with partial disabilities may be entitled to certain benefits, accommodations, or support services to help them continue working or maintain their quality of life, depending on the applicable laws and policies in their jurisdiction. Disability insurance, workers’ compensation, and social security disability benefits are some of the resources available to individuals with partial disabilities to help them cope with the challenges they may face.
